Traditional Easter Festivities

For more than a century, the Easter festivities have offered a picturesque scene of local tradtion – the crowning of the Queen of Vence, Easter Mass in the Cathedral, chivalrous poetry readings and musical entertainment, tributes to famous provencal figures of the past, and folk festivals – to name but a few of the exciting events which take place, culminating in the spectacular ‘flower battle’ parade and the ‘decorated floral floats’ procession.

Each edition promises great delights such as the decorated floral floats procession, a spectacular event orchestrated by local associations and voluntary helpers, which requires some 170,000 flowers, 1 ton of wood, 4 tons of iron, 500 kg of wire mesh and 80 kg of nails.
