Vence, the town of festivals and culture, offers all year long many events to promote the region and its local traditions, but also many musics from all over the world with the festival of the Southern Nights and its famous artists who bring to Vence every year thousands of visitors.

February

St.Valentine’s Ball and election of the Queen of Vence.

March/April

Easter festivities, with its traditional animations. Sine 1922, at this time, the Queen has been crowned, with the `danse de la souche’, folklore groups, the `messe du siège’ and the grand battle of flowers.

May

Vence celebrates its cultures. This event pays homage to all the foreign communities living in Vence, Algeria, Ecuador, Germany, Madagascar, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Poland, Rumania, Spain, Tunisia and Provence meet you to share their gastronomy, their folklore, the handcraft, their lifestyle...

The pottery market. Every year, nearly 50 potters show their latest creations.

June

Sports meeting An important meeting for local sportsmen and champions who are specially congratulated and celebrated during the evening.

July/August

The traditional music festival. The Traditional Music Festival at Parc de la Conque : Provençal dances - Regional stringed-instrument trade - Rustic meal. web

The Patronal Day of Saint Elisabeth This big event is been celebrated in August since the 19th century. Folkloric dances, mass at the chapel and ceremony at Place du Grand Jardin

The Nuits du Sud, a meeting-place for different musical cultures : Africa, Europe are there beside Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and Brazil. The Nuits du Sud has always so many great moments, discoveries, meetings, festivity and sharing. It is in the spirit that lies the strength of the festival.

September

The Antique Show Around thirty antique dealers, at Place du Grand Jardin, during 4 days.

Sainte Colombe Celebration A popular and religious event during which the townspeople of Vence come to dance, sing and picnic.

Forum des Associations The Forum of Associations is a good way for local people to discover or rediscover the sports, cultural or charitable activities that are possible to practise in Vence.

October

The backcountry celebrates its traditions. A festival of traditions, of trades, of music and dance , to mark the end of summer. Two days to discover the authentic way of living of the Southern cities but also the ancestral savoir-faire exported all over the world and passed on even today by generations of Provence lovers.

Cinematographic meetings. Thematic meetings and conferences animated by film-makers, actors and film enthusiasts . An inescapable event for lovers of the 7th Art.
